Yes, it’s that time of year again when the first wine of the recent vintage is released from the Beaujolais, but this time without the usual hullaballoo to accompany it. Thanks to Brexit and COVID, the transporters can no longer be relied upon to bring the wines through from the continent quickly enough to guarantee that the Nouveau would be here for the appropriate day. So this year we’ve abandoned ship and reverted to drinking the highly superior Beaujolais Crus instead.
Just imagine those wonderful dishes from the region, Coq au Vin, Boeuf Bourguignon or Oeufs en Meurette ready to be washed down with a few great glasses of Fleurie or Morgon to put a warm feeling in your tummy now that the colder days are upon us.
So later in the week we’ll be putting together an offer for you to enjoy so why not start to study those recipe books so you’ll be ready to go when the wine arrives.
