The perfect Chinese Food Wine Pairings!

Looking forward to the coming weekend and celebrating Chinese New Year. This year will be the year of the Ox and the day is Friday 12th February although for many, the celebrations will be on Sunday 14th – Valentine’s Day!

So what are the characteristics of Ox people or should that be Oxen?! Well, they are patient people with a capacity for hard work. Luck isn’t something they rely upon and therefore isn’t a major factor in their lives but rather a strong work ethic will repay you later in life for the foundations put in in more youthful times. Steady and quiet, they tend to be popular people with a gentle nature which the opposite sex find appealing.

This coming Friday, why not contact your local Chinese restaurant who will no doubt be having a hard time during lockdown, and buy a take-away from them to celebrate the year of the Ox. They’re certain to be working. And for something to help wash it down, have a look at the following suggestions:

Wines to go with Chinese Food

Over the last 37 years we have supplied many of the northwest’s and indeed the UK’s  finest Chinese restaurants and have had cause to match food and wine together. This is not always the easiest thing to do as they present many different flavours in the dishes within the same course, but we have found several wines that work very well with Chinese and indeed far eastern food in general. So why not visit your favourite restaurant who is sure to be doing take-aways and help them through this difficult period with some business and enjoy some different flavours during lock-down.
