Château Haut-Peyrous Graves Rouge Retour De Palombières is immediately expressive on the nose, showing red fruits, chocolate, violets and subtle pencil shavings. The palate is round, complex and beautifully balanced, with generous fruit, elegant weight and restrained tannins. The finish delivers the classic mineral and spice character of top Graves.

Situated 80m above sea level on the second terrace of the Garonne River in Mazère, just south of Langon, Haut-Peyrous was converted to organic farming in 2008 under Marc Darroze, with outstanding results evident in this second vintage. A blend of 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc, the wine underwent a long maceration with gentle extraction to preserve finesse, before one year in oak barrels refined the tannins and added complexity.
