The Baigorria family has been involved in Mendoza’s wine industry since 1960; first with the purchase of their own vineyards and later, in 2004, with their own winery. Located in the picturesque town of San Roque, Maipu, the winery was retrofitted from an old glass tile factory – combining new technology with traditional wine making techniques.
Winemakers Maria Eugenia Baigorria and Sergio Jimenez present yet another exceptional offering from their vineyards located in the prestigious region of Mendoza - Lujan de Cuyo. Renowned for their unwavering commitment to quality, the winery meticulously handpicks all the fruit at their estate. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes undergo a second round of hand selection to ensure that only the finest fruit is included in the blend.
Following the selection process, the grapes are subjected to a 2 or 3 day cold soak, skilfully extracting remarkable colour and fruit flavour. The subsequent cool temperature vinification, which spans approximately three weeks, preserves the delicate aromas and flavours inherent in the fruit. After completing the malolactic fermentation, the wine is judiciously aged for a period of 7 months in French and American oak barrels.
This fastidious winemaking approach exemplifies their unwavering dedication to crafting wines of exceptional quality and distinction. The resulting wine is a testament to their expertise and passion, capturing the essence of the terroir while offering an exquisite balance of colour, flavour, and texture.
